A Lift must be installed by a professional Elevator company. Please ensure before buying that Lift company has the necessary skills and knowledge. There are many local assemblers, who sell products at low cheap prices . कृपया कम कीमतों के झांसे में न आएं I Please do not fall into the trap of low prices. This can be risky besides losing your investment. These jugad products may not meet the required BIS Safety code IS 14665. Many of local company are fly by night operators . They do not have any infrastructure or office or factory or warehouse .many a times Its a one man show . they do not any system and process .
The installation of a Lift can be expensive & time consuming, so it is important to consider the cost of the Lift, as well as the cost of getting a Civil Contractor or Electrical and other contractors involved. Additionally, some Lifts require a lot of space which might not be able to fit in some homes. First, you should know what type of Lift you need and its specifications.
You should also know about the costs and benefits so that you can make an informed decision. Most of the bigger MNC Lift Suppliers will install their proprietary equipment at a discounted rate, knowing well that they shall be locking you into their proprietary equipment for years to come. You may also be faced with extremely high fees they charge for maintenance and servicing of their equipment.. Many of Bigger Lifts suppliers have made their Business Strategy to reduce the life cycle of their equipment over the years. While in the good Old days, they used to make Elevator equipment and parts that used to last 20 to 30 years, which now has been reduced.Obviously, The repair costs are also considerably higher. You may be locked with this equipment and you can not change your service provider, Mainly because spare parts shall not be available in the open market and The worst is the self-locking kind of software which shall stop the Lift after a certain predetermined time, forcing to take AMC at the exorbitant price from MNC only .

Is there any mandate regarding the number or size of lifts required for a particular number of floors?
No regulations specify any mandatory requirements as far as the number of lifts is concerned. IS 14665 Part 2, Section 1, as well as the National Building Code (NBC) of India 2016, offers guidelines for traffic analysis calculations, which determine the handling capacity and response time. Based on this analysis, there are different recommendations for different types of buildings. For buildings higher than 15 meters, there is a need for an eight-passenger fire lift (with automatic doors and speed sufficient to reach the top floor in 60 seconds), and other requirements as per the Fire Prevention Act and rules of each State. The NBC 2016 highlights that there is a need for a stretcher lift in buildings having a height of more than 30 meters. These requirements vary from State to State, and one must consult a technical expert for specific cases.
